PAN AM—one of my faves!  One part Catch Me if You Can, one part sexy.

Passion, jealousy and espionage… They do it all – and they do it at 30,000 feet. The style of the 1960s, the energy and excitement of the Jet Age and a drama full of sexy entanglements deliciously mesh in this thrilling and highly-original new series.

The River

A little scary (not too scary, it’s primetime TV after all), a little mysterious, and a lot of sexual tension between the main characters.

“The River” follows the story of wildlife expert and TV personality Emmet Cole. Emmet set course around the world with his wife, Tess, and son, Lincoln, while filming what would become one of the most popular shows in television. After he goes missing deep in the Amazon, his family, friends and crew set out on a mysterious and deadly journey to find him

Scandal.

This one might be my favorite. Kerry Washington KILLS it. It’s from Shonda Rhimes, so it has that that quirky, smart Grey’s Anatomy writing. It takes place in Washington D.C.; it keeps you on the edge of your seat.  And I mean, hello, DESMOND.

This premieres tonight. It was my very favorite pilot last year.
Kerry Washington is all sorts of awesome. The dialogue is quick and witty and Shonda Rhimes-y. The stories are oh so scandalous. And plus, Desmond is in it.
Tune in tonight at 10pm on ABC.
Three cheers for the home team!

Three cheers for the home team!

For those of you who are newer here, I work at ABC in the alternative department, which means we handle any and all reality shows on ABC—The Bachelor, Dancing with the Stars, Wipeout, etc. Lots of stuff happening around these parts at the moment!

Emily’s season of The Bachelorette is almost done shooting and premieres May 14th.  That’s less than a month away!

In other Bachelor news, we’re gearing up for Bachelor Pad. While I can’t confirm any cast members, I can tell you that YOU have a chance to be on it. We’re opening it up to the public. You can apply HERE. Send me an email (but not your application) if you decide to apply!

And lastly, you may have heard about our new show Duets. In case you haven’t, it’s our new singing show featuring Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Nettles, Lionel Richie, and Robin Thicke. The superstars each choose two people to mentor AND perform with week after week. Kinda like Idol, kinda like The Voice, but also kinda NOT because the judges are actually singing every show. Right now, the stars are traveling around the country trying to find their two contestants. Kelly recently auditioned two singers at her concert in San Diego. Check them out here and here. Jennifer did the same thing in Vegas. Check them out here and here. Be sure to tune in May 24th to see who made the final cut!

That’s all for now! Hooray for ABC!

Lionel OUT, Legend IN

Remember when I told you about ABC’s new show, Duets?

There’s been an update.  Lionel Richie is out, John Legend is in.

We are all excited over here!

[PS last week was not at all stressful, and everything was totally normal, and if you, too, work behind the scenes of television you know that swapping out a major star 2 days before shooting is like, no big thing.]

But alas, the show must go on, and John is a welcome addition to the show!

What do you think of the change?

LET’S DUET!

Feeling like you need to jazz up someone’s day?

Say to them, LET’S DUET!

It’s super fun. In celebration (and nervous anticipation) of our show launching tonight, we are using its catchphrase to an obnoxious amount around the office today.

At any given point today in hallways, kitchen, elevators, even the bathroom, you can hear:

LET’S DUET!

Vegas is trying to kill me. Officially.

A week ago today, I was heading back from a Vegas “work trip” in the back of coworker Amy’s car certain I have a Vegas curse. Remember last year’s trip to the Billboard Music Awards resulted in this?

Long story short, a few nights out in Vegas resulted in high frequency hearing loss and a permanent ringing in both ears. Not even massive steroids could reverse the damage. This year, I vowed to take better care of myself. Lots of water. Plenty of sleep. Super sexy ear plugs AT ALL TIMES. The trip started out great. Here are some shots of Kelly Clarkson’s pre-party the night before the awards on Sunday:

See that smile on my face? If only I knew what was in store for a me a few hours later. Damn those crab tostadas at the MGM pool…After the pre-party, we went to Marquee where I again, for the 2nd year in a row, ran into some friends from college on a Bachelor Party:

Once is a coincidence, twice is a tradition? Well, that was the last time I smiled that trip. About an hour after that picture was taken, I turned to the bf and said, “I gotta go, and I gotta go NOW.” I’ll spare you the very unpretty details. Let’s just say I got to know my hotel bathroom well. Intimately. Biblically. Sunday afternoon I tried to rally. I really did. I showered, put on my dress….and crawled right back into bed. I sent my friends to the show without me.  What could I do?

Let’s review. Billboard 2011:

And Billboard 2012:

WHOMP WHOMP.

I marched into the head boss’ office on Tuesday and suggested: Billboard. 2013. Palm Springs. Sounds like a great idea to me. Don’t you think?

In all seriousness, pre “death by MGM” it was a great trip!

Holy New Followers!

Welcome! Methinks you are here mostly due to my girl, A, reblogging the picture of Jef, Emily, and me from last night. Whatever your reason, I’m glad you are here!

Here’s a little bit about me: I’m from LA. I went to NYU and lived in NYC for 4 years post college before moving back LA. My first job was in casting for Wife Swap, and I have worked in reality television ever since.

I currently work at ABC in the Alternative Department, which means we handle any and all reality shows on the network. I was a huge Bachelor fan before landing the gig, and I’m still a big fan. It’s also the franchise I work closest with because my boss covers the show. You can follow him on twitter @Millsy11375 for more inside scoop! I’m happy to chat Bach stuff anytime!

Sometimes I get to go to fun things and cool parties with my job.  I do my best to post those pictures! Other than work stuff, you can expect lots of pictures of my French Bulldog, Bruley. General pop culture and political musings. Reblogs of pretty things. Oh and food. I love food. And books. And wine. And despite his very best efforts to remain anonymous in life, pictures and stories of my cute boyfriend of 8 1/2 years, J. Thanks for stopping by!
