Thanks to all who sent me book recommendations! Glad to know I didn’t screw myself out of future Tropper enjoyment by reading This Is Where I Leave You first. Book of Joe and Plan B are definitely on the Christmas docket!
My sister had a copy of Sarah’s Key that I decided to pick up. I know, I’m like, 5 years late. I just had no interest. A book about children in the holocaust? Ooph.
I can’t tell you the last time I finished a book in 4 days. (The lack of anything else to do over a holiday weekend helped, certainly.) I plowed right through that sucker. It was riveting. I had never heard of the Vel’ d’Hiv Roundup in France, and the book absolutely transports you into that world.
If you’re like me, don’t be turned off by the sad subject matter. It’s truly, a great read and totally worth it.
Next up? The Tiger’s Wife.
