This lil lady passed away this weekend. Not totally unexpected, but is it ever easy?
When I was 19 or 20 years old, J took me home to meet his extended family.
His grandmother, who I was told was nothing but proper and polite in her younger years, was starting to “lose it” a bit.
She took one look at my navy blue manicure and proclaimed, “Are you blind? In BOTH eyes?”
I knew right then and there we were going to get along. It was kind of our thing. I loved to show off my “wild” manicures, and she would always roll her eyes.
Rest in Peace, Mama. You’ll be happy to know I’m wearing a classic red on both my nails and my toes.
