lovelayneb asked: I'm a sort of new follower, so I know that you work for abc or the bachelor in some capacity, but I'm not clear on the details. Are you in casting? Do you get to meet all the crazies before they appear on the show? If yes, who are your personal favorites this season?

Okay universe, you win.
First, I want to say thank you to all who read and commented or emailed regarding my “Life, in 3’s” post—grammar mistakes and all.  I’ll go back and fix them, but at the time, I was far more focused on the content.  Thank you, thank you, thank you. Truly, I was hurting more for the people involved, but thank you all for our concern about how I was doing.  But a word...

LIFE, in 3's
You know how “they” say bad things come in 3’s?  Screw that. I’m changing the rules. Last week, 2 fantastic men I know passed away.  I decided I wasn’t going to wait around for 3rd piece of bad news.  Instead, my friend, Tiffany, had a beautiful baby girl.  I want the universe to know: Enough. Deal over. Finito. Three pieces of big news, move along. And now...

So I’ll admit, I don’t like sharing a name with crazy Michelle, but this ad is pretty amazing.  Yes, I’m biased, and I think every episode is so great, but I swear, tonight’s is REALLY good.  MicHELLe BRINGS it with her craziness.  I almost spit out my lunch when I first watched it, and the wait for it to air has been brutal.  Now the world will see…she’s...

New Years in Times Square Part 2
In case you need to catch up, click here. A few things I forgot to mention.  1. The weather could not have been more perfect.  If you notice, I’m wearing nothing but my leather bomber jacket. No scarf, no coat, no mittens, no hat.  It was perfectly comfortable and a nice surprise after that blizzard!  I’ve thanked the travel gods, and now I’d like to thank the weather gods. 2....

New Years in Times Square Part 1
After much debate about whether or not I wanted to make the trek to NYC for NYE, I thought, “What the hell!”  Working for the network allotted me VIP access passes, which meant I could walk in and out of police barricades at my leisure, check out the scene outside, and escape the crowds inside ABC studios.   Insanely awesome? I thought so, too.  Mother Nature almost ruined my plans. ...

I'm solving this astrology thing once and for all....
This website made a chart about what you might make for dinner based on your new sign.  Just putting it out there—NO POSSIBLE WAY I’m now a Virgo.  Nutella pudding for dinner? Ding Ding Ding. Still a scorpio. Myth DEBUNKED. Capricorn: The practical and prudent Capricorn might doctor up a can of beans, making three-bean vegetarian chili to stash away for emergency meals later on....

Perk of the gig
It’s kind of a never-ending process, but at various times throughout the year, casting for a certain show about dancing really gets underway.  For the most part, I’m kept completely in the dark.  It’s really, really, REALLY secretive.  BUT, for a few weeks or so, suddenly an influx of celebrities start showing up in our lobby.   It’s always fun to speculate with my fellow...

Do you think History is “not airing” this series to gain massive interest?  Because let’s be honest, it will air eventually. Or perhaps because they realized Katie Holmes is really bad at being anything but Joey Potter Katie Holmes? Maybe a combination of both.  Either way, previews look pretty scandalous I must say!  Air it already.

How did you do it?
My friend, Kathleen, aka KB featured here, is thinking about starting up a blog. (Do it! Do it!) But she’s having trouble thinking of a name. It is hard to come up with something original, fun, easy to type, and so very you. Tinsely happened to be an old nickname of sorts, and Bruley is my dog’s name, so mine kind of came organically. How did you guys come up with yours? Help KB...

“But it won’t do to dig up stray comments by Obama, Allen Grayson, or any other Democrat who used metaphors of combat over the past few years, and then try to claim some balance of responsibility in the implied violence of current American politics. (Most of the Obama quotes … were lame attempts to reassure his base that he can get mad and fight back, i.e., signs that he’s practically incapable...

A perfect New York night
I’m slacking on posting about my New York trip. Mostly because I can’t find my damn camera cord.  But I will say, my last night in New York was one of those perfect city nights.  The kind where it’s not too cold to walk to down Park avenue 15 blocks or so.  There was snow on the ground, of course, but it wasn’t too slushy (see previous post).  It was just a perfect night to...

What I've been reading...
I had a fantastic summer of reading, as referenced here, here, here, and here. And then life happened, and it kind of took me forever to get through anything.  (Isn’t it funny how you can plow through 4 to 5 books one month, and the next, you can’t even get through a chapter? Maybe it’s just me.)  Anyway, my fall/winter reading list has included: I’ve realized some...

What does it mean when....
…you’re at work. And you have to ask your coworker what that rehab quote is.  You know the one about controlling and change, and God grant me something or other… Because it SO applies today.  Except I’m not in rehab.  Just at work.  In case you are curious, it’s: God, grant me the serenity To accept the things I cannot change; Courage to change the things I can; And...

My car just staged an intervention with me.
For the last few days, my car’s engine light has been on.  The dreaded engine light.  When this happens, my dad takes it in for me.  However, my car was SO DIRTY. I had to get it washed before handing over the keys to my dad, otherwise I get a lecture.  “How can you drive around like this? You’re need to take better care.  Ay yi yi.” All said in a thick, Chilean accent.  ...

I’ve gone on a carriage ride exactly twice.  The first time was when I was 17, when I was young and naive and in love with all things New York.  The next time was a few years later, with a boy.  I cringe when people say, “it’s so romantic!”  No, it’s not.  You’re participating in a type of animal abuse. You’re sitting in a dirty carriage with funky...

Trying something new....
I just wrote this bitchy (funny?) post about the woman sitting next to me on the plane yesterday.  I’m afraid of flying. We were going through turbulence. I asked her to open the window so I could see if we were in clouds or something. (“Something” meaning we were flying through a flock of massive birds, the wing fell off, a perfect storm was approaching…you know, rational...
